1. Relax at the V & A waterfront

2. Explore the Shoreline

3. Visit a Wine Farm

In the Cape winelands that surround the city center are dotted with top wine producing farms. The climate, soil and slopes of the region provide a unique niche that nurtures the perfect wine grape. There is so much more to do at a Cape wine farm, than wine tasting alone. Enjoy top modern and heritage architecture finest cuisine, original children's activities, and unsurpassed scenery. 4. Take a Scenic Drive

Here shown, a breathtaking drive on the M6 between Hout Bay and Camps Bay.... affectionately known to locals as "Chapman's Peak Drive". This is one of many interesting routes within a two hour radius from the city bowl. Enjoy a trip from one town to the next, past vineyards with mountain backdrops, or take a drive along the shoreline with the deep blue water to your right and fynbos clad cliffs to your left. Roads in the Western Cape are generally well kept, with comfortable service stations with clean ablution facilities. Enjoy Africa with a measure of comfort! He lived in it while acting as one of the first governers of the new Cape Colony. Stellenbosch and Simonberg are both named after him. 5. Swim at a Waterpark

There are plenty of slides and different size pools at this popular waterpark right on strand beach. Fun for the whole family at very reasonable prices and there are loads of other things to do such as play mini golf.

6. Cape Dutch Architecture Tour

With its 400 year old history of colonial architecture, the Cape is dotted with arcitectural treasures of great beauty and significance. Visit dozens of well mainted homes in the Cape Dutch style, or see the historical tour routes of the small towns around Cape Town such as Stellenbosch and Franschhoek. This Blettermanshuis in Stellenbosch is one example of the numerous historical buildings in the area dating from the 17th century onwards. The towns are picturesque with street cafes, and markets abounding. The vineyards and mountains are also ever present. Take a guided tour, or use a good map to get the best out of your excursion. Stellenbosch and Franschhoek are the top two historic towns an hours drive from the Cape metrapole.

7. See Wild Animals

There are many places in the Cape to see wild animals, even though there is no official Cape Town zoo. The Cheetah Outreach is located at Paardevlei in Somerset West. The Drakenstein Lion Park is another great place to see large cats and le Bonheur Crocodile farm is just nearby. If you are interested in Birds, there are huge aviaries at Hout Bay World of Birds and also at Exotic Animal Farm south of Paarl. Giraffe house has both native animals and exotic species.
8. Photograph Historical Architecture

Visit iconic landmarks such as the Rhodes memorial with its large Greek style portico and 8 sculptural lions that overlook the entire Cape Town Southern suburbs and both Oceans.

9. Visit Cape Dutch Gardens

The Cape Dutch building style is accompanied by a wonderful landscaping style that is unique to it. A splendid combination of exotic and local plants create a marvelous spectacle.

10. View Art in a Park

It has become a trend in the wine farms of the Cape to include in the garden areas varied and tasteful sculptures by local artists. Lourensford Wine Estate in Somereset West is one of the best Examples, but Delaire Graff, Tokara Winery and Spier are notable alternatives.

11. Kirstenbosch Live Concerts

This world famous gardens has a special grassed amphitheatre area that can fit thousand of people while watching the best local and international music performances especially during the holiday seasons.

13.Explore a Hiking Trail

The large sedimentary and fold mountains surrounding the Cape Flat Basin provide for great day hikes that will reward you with panoramic views at the top, and charming indigenous flora and fuana all the way there.

14. Kayaking

There is no better way to unwind than to take a relaxe row out into a river or a calm bay. Popular venues are Muizenberg Beach, Kleinmond and one of the many camping sites along local rivers.

15. River Boating

Go to Imhoff farm to enjoy the restaurant or be more daring and ride the horses. Visit this exciting place of interest that is nestled in the heart of the Cape Peninsula. Be sure to stop here on your round trip after visiting the Cape Point Nature Reserve, Boulder's Penguins or Simonstown.
