1. Vergelegen Wine Farm



Located in Somerset West this photograph by architect Beverley Hui shows the grounds in full blossom including hydrangeas and wild garlic flowers. The hedges and lawns are immaculately kept and provide rest for the eye. 2. Kirstenbosch Gardens



These National Botanical gardens are internationally acclaimed and custodians of a type of plant that is endemic to the Cape - known as Fynbos. Fynbos means "fine-bush" and it is thus quoined because of the fine leaves of the plant that make it durable through the hot summer months. The park is located on the eastern slopes of Table Mountain and is a must-stop attraction for any visitor to South Africa. Both picnic areas and a fine restaurant are available making it convenient for all local families and tourists alike. 3. Vredenheim Wine Farm





This prestigious historical farm that is more than 300 years old, boasts one of the earliest genuine Cape Dutch farmhouses in the baroque style. This exists in unique combination with a game farm and children's animal petting zoo. To the South are immaculately kept flower gardens that are designed and managed by professional horticulturalists. The natural lakes are a source of water that make it a year round paradise and top wedding venue. The main farmhouse is in the baroque Cape Dutch style and dates to 1789. It was declared a National Monument in 1975 and is a treasure in its own right.

4. Delaire Graff Estate





Owned by Jeweller Laurence Graff the Estate contains luxury clothing, homeware and art boutiques as well as restaurants with the finest cuisine. The modern architectural marvel with open trusses and a large fireplace overlooks some of the best views of the Cape Winelands and Simonsberg Mountain. The gardens are dotted with architecturally placed water features and sculptures by top SA artists. The estate is an inspiration for young creative talents.

5. Green Point Park





The Urban Park is located near the city center and is one of the must see attractions that Cape Town has to offer. 6. Cavalli

7. The Company Gardens



Located in center of Cape Town, the gardens have a history that is more than 300 years old and were the first gardens to be planted by the settlers. The park is a relaxed place to enjoy lunch at a restaurant, see the aviaries and show the kids the squirrels which freely roam the area. Along the sides of the Company Gardens are numerous museums, historical landmarks and places of interest. This makes it a place to visit more than once for locals and international visitors alike.

8. Avontuur





Avontuur Wine Farm has all that a nature lover could look for in terms of comfort and things to see. A historical Cape Dutch manor house is visible from the restaurant, which overlooks white roses that are almost always in full bloom. Horses roam the pastures and while Helderberg Mountain towers over the scene. The farm is easily accessible off the R44 from Somerset West to Stellenbosch.

THE VERGELEGEN HYDRANGEA GARDEN
