1. The Rock-Clad Cellar
Reditus west elevation of the farm houseReditus Winery was Completed in Devon Valley, Stellenbosch in 2013, and includes a private wine cellar, tasting room and modern farm house. The contemporary architecture makes subtle references to the farming activites on the premises through the use of hardwood pargolas and a natural stone plinth that anchors the modern elements to the natural surroundings.

3. The Dogs at Reditus
Tiffany and GaiusTiffany the Sottish Terrier was the first to live on the winery, arriving with the owner's as they moved in. She was soon joined by Gaius, a sturdy Neapolitan Mastiff who is highly protective and loyal toward the farm and its inhabitants. This breed was originally bred by the Romans as a dog of war. Here seen enjoying the genuine bamboo floors which are comfortable, durable and good for the environment.

Reditus View from DeckThe sunset light plays off the multifacetted and layered building, creating a calm but thought-provoking atmosphere.
The Herb Garden Terrace
Large, deep planters on the balconies are supplied with irrigation to each one, providing for lemon trees, vines and herb gardens accessible from the kitchen on the first floor.
Harvest Time
During March the grape bunches are plucked and de-stemmed as shown in the picture. The cellar is fully equipped for the full wine-making process.

THE VERGELEGEN HYDRANGEA GARDEN
The Cape Dutch style is one of the styles that is truly endemic and indigenous to South Africa. The elaborate gable, thatch roof and sliding sash windows are characteristic of the style. In the revivalist versions seen in the suburbs, some license is taken with the roof, but the gable usually remains a distinguishing feature.
